Bairro Surubi, Resende, Brazil

Bairro Surubi used to be an rural area full of coffee fields, and with workers from the fields living in the area. At this time the railway station was the meeting place of the city. Today the railway station and railway tracks are gone, only a dusty road is left, where people still live in houses from this timeperiod. The family living in the oldest house from this timeperiod asked the Citizens’ Organization of Bairro Surubi for help to recover their house, since it had the lowest sanitary standard(no toilet) and the family had the lowest conditions for living(no job income). The family consists of a father and his two daughters and a younger son living happily in the 1,5 room house. The terms for the family to get the house recovery help was collaboration and assistance from all family members, and all possible relatives, and friends, to make COLLECTIVE ENERGY RAISING and INDOOR HEALTH EDUCATION for the youngsters of the family and friends. Creative Actions would supply materials and pay 1-2 professional building workers, and would also work actively by the house.
