EVERYBODY CAN MOVE THE JUNGLE! As a part of the 5th Conflux Festival at the AIA Center for Architecture, Karoline invited everybody to swing the Jungle Strings between the city elements nearby the Center and in Lower Manhattan. Karoline placed Jungle Strings from a bridge to a lower road, from a bench to a street sign, or between trees and lampposts.
Re-use / Re-cycle
First time Guerilla Jungle Strings grew between the city architecture was in May 2008 in Aalborg, Denmark, hereafter they travelled to Nørrebro Market Square, Copenhagen in July-September 2008, and in September they travelled with Karoline in a suitcase overseas to New York City, USA and finally returning to Denmark the Jungle Strings found a permanent place in October 2008 in the smallest town Bækmarksbro, Denmark, with less than 1000 inhabitants. The Guerilla Jungle Strings is a development of Collective Strings NYC, which Karoline did together with Jasmine Zimmerman in Prospect Park, McCarren Park, Central Park, East Riverside Park and Union Square in May 2007.
“The way we move affects the way we think and act. I want to create possibilities for citizens to move and rest in new ways and find new routes through New York city space. I work for more public room for more ‘human flow’ and positive empact on the energetic field we are all connected within through our senses.”
