Night Vision Festival, Long St., Cape Town
March 11 2005
On March 11 2005, 21 young people from Rondebosch Boys School and Michaelis School of Art and their friends met Karoline H. Larsen on Long St., Cape Town. It was on the night of Night Vision Festival, a Capetonian celebrating night with bands and performances, where the street were closed to traffic from about 5 p.m., and was filled up with thousands of foot-going revellers, who would dance the night away. The young people tracked 3 km colorful strings crisscrossing between hundreds of people passing by. The web of strings would start to move in unpredictable ways as people would walk, crawl, dance, jump, climb, twist, run through it during the 30 minutes the Collective Strings were allowed to exist.
