Role Stories I, Roskilde University Center, August 2003
Role Stories II, Arthall Charlottenborg, September 2003

Role Stories is a work based on stories of seven female professors from Roskilde University Center (2003).
The work consists of 47 table -posters 180 cm x 80 cm, a photo- and quote montage portrait. The Role Stories were exhibited in the Autumn Exhibition at Arthall Charlottenborg.
Since the founding of Roskilde University Center in 1972, 11 female and 150 male professors have been employed! The canteen at the Roskilde University Center is daily used by 8.800 students. In August 2003, 47 tables were set with Role Stories by the professors Lise Drewes Nielsen, Valery E. Forbes, Dorte Olesen, Birgitte Simonsen, Kirsten Simonsen, Kirsten Weber & Agnete Weis Bentzon. Role Stories are quotes from the 7 professors about their hardcore work & career experiences on their way to become professors. The professor quotes are mounted on a miniature photography universe showing “dreams of the collective with colorful pins and cotton buds partying together in a canteen with matchbox tables and pencil lamps” which creates a paradoxical dream-world to the hard-core educational environment. The Role Stories bring the long-awaited wider representation of female professors by the Danish universities into focus, and for the Roskilde University students in particular. It is as if Karoline H. Larsen wants to say: Wake up! This is a hardcore elimination race, start making your dreams and the reality of the university educational system come together.
