Continuum Movement

Since 2006 Karoline H. Larsen has practised Continuum Movement with great joy in Jeanne Jensen’s classes,
also in Sao Paulo at Lali’s classes and in New York at Mary Abrams studio. It has given Karoline great
knowledge and inspiration for her CREATIVE ACTIONS focusing on body movement in Art.

Here Jeanne Jensen is showing her Continuum Movement practice photographed by Karoline.
In Continuum Movement you work with the connective tissue in the body. In Continuum it switches between
still and more dynamic process. Continuum can assist the body to heal itself.
Continuum is American. The system was developed by the American dancer Emilie Conrad.

Continuum is a new movement system in Denmark. This system may affect one or more plans of us at the same time. Continuum may be quiet, dynamic, build strength, flexibility, expanding movement capabilities while allowing for meditative contemplation.

The human body consists mainly of liquid – approx. 75%. If the fluid is static, it turns out that pent-up tension in the bones, muscles, joints and nervous system. A good way to keep this fluid moves, supple and alive, is to use soft water-like movements – both still and dynamic activity. Through the undulating movements you can get in contact with the accumulated tension and slowly dissolve them.

To get the process started, you will be using sound and music to explore different movement patterns. How can you get in touch with your original currents and find new resources, experience energy, peace and wellbeing in the body. You will experience greater freedom of movement and vitality.
